This album did seem to slow it down compared to older Inquisition but brought everything I want from an Inquisition album.Įmpire of the Moon - I'm a sucker for the Greek BM sound and this was one of two Hellenic BM releases this year that really managed to capture my attention. Inquisition - Another long time favorite of mine, Inquisition have a sort of hypnotic sound that gets your head bobbing without even realizing it. Love the sound Akhlys creates so this was more of a good thing. Wasn't better but it more than lived up to expectations. It's hard to explain what makes this album so good but it just draws you in with the weirdness and latches on.Īkhlys - A fitting follow-up to The Dreaming Eye. It reminded me a lot of Winterkälte (my favorite before Im Wald) but was an hour longer.Īxis of Light - Absolutely infectious raw black metal with some incredibly catchy hooks.Įsoctrilihum - A weird yet absolutely intoxicating ride of an album. Paysage d'Hiver - Paysage has been one of my favorite atmoblack bands for a while now and this was just the perfect release for me.
